Criteria
Dogs will only be accepted for grooming after the Owner (or another responsible person) has filled in and signed a client form.
Health or Medical Problems & Senior Dogs
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior dog or dog with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this agreement will give Pimp my Pooch permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by us. We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to our authorised Veterinarian, or to the nearest Veterinarian that is available. It is agreed that all expenses for Veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner.
Fleas/Ticks
Pimp my Pooch strives to be a flea/tick-free environment. If your dog has a flea or tick infestation, I will ask that you reschedule your grooming appointment once the flea or tick problem is under control. Dogs with a flea or tick infestation carry a risk of anaemia, infections, tapeworms and other health problems. I recommend that you contact your veterinarian for advice on the best treatment for your situation. If fleas are found on your dog I will bathe your dog in a flea shampoo and have to treat the van, this will incur a £20 charge on your grooming bill. If ticks are found an additional charge of £10 will be added for their removal.
Accidents
There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations. Possible problems that could occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and quicking of the nails. In most cases this can happen when a dog is wiggling or moving around. We make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but if your dog does not accept the process it can be dangerous to continue the groom.
Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs
Owners MUST inform me prior to grooming of any previous history of biting or aggression to people or specific grooming procedures. Your attention is drawn to the dangerous dogs act which holds owners liable for bites and injuries.
I reserve the right to refuse or stop services of your dog at any time before or during the grooming process and/or charge an Aggressive Dog Fee commensurate to the additional handling required to complete the groom in addition to the regular grooming charge. If your dog should bite the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage.
If a dog exhibits aggression or behaviour we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the session will be stopped immediately and the full fee incurred.
Water and Drainage
The van has a 25 gallon fresh water tank which is filled at the start of every day. Fresh, clean water is used for every dog.
The used soapy water drains out immediately. this is no worse than washing your car and as I use such lovely products, these won’t cause any harm to the environment.
Wee-Wees Please
Please ensure your dog has had an adequate chance to relieve itself before your appointment.
If your dog defecates or urinates during the grooming process and requires a second bath you will be charged appropriately.
Customer Details
Your details are held in confidence by Pimp my Pooch so that we have a reference to ensure the safe grooming of your dog. The only time they are shared would be on request by another groomer, should you wish to transfer elsewhere or move home to a different area. These details will only be shared upon your (the owner’s) request.
Feedback & Social Media
After each session we will inform you of any problems we have encountered, or any concerns we have re your dog. This is the time to inform us of any concerns you have in relation to the groom. The majority of our business is repeat custom and I am proud of the standard and reputation I have achieved with my customer service. I often take pictures to show examples of before and after work and to use for training and information.
If for any reason you do not wish photos of your dog to appear on social media please inform us at the time of the groom.
Pricing
Any non-sight prices quoted assume the following:
- Your dog’s coat is well maintained and free from any matts and tangles.
- Your dog is well behaved, shows no aggression and groomed at our recommended periods.
- Your dog is not unusually large (overweight or oversized for the breed).
We are happy to work with nervous and timid dogs but I may need to charge an additional fee due to the extra time and handling skills required.
Charges will be incurred for matted coats, those that are poorly maintained, or dogs with fleas.

Payments
All charges are payable before you leave the salon with your pet. Payment can be made by card, cash or BACS payment at time of booking/prior to appointment.

Bookings & Cancellations Policy
We appreciate that sometimes you may need to rearrange your dog's appointment. As long as this is done with more than 48 hours notice there will be no charge.
Any failure to show or cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will result in the full fee being payable and no further appointments booked until the account is settled. Cancellations between 24-48 hrs will be charged at half the appointment fee.
If there are more than 2 occasions of no show/late cancellations within a 12 month period you will be required to pre-pay for appointments at time of booking.
Grooming Services
Treating each dog as an individual, I offer a relaxed environment for my dog grooming services in our beautiful mobile salon. Being mindful of nervous or aggressive pooches, I always ensure that everyone is completely happy. All products used are natural and organic and also cater for dogs with sensitive skin.
I am also fully ensured for your peace of mind.
